Make Money From Home

Finding Ways To Make Extra Money

As a Stay-at-home Mom, you may need to find ways to make extra money to help offset the costs of living on one income.

How can you make money from home?

There are some great ways to make extra money while still being at home with your children.

Online work is abundant, but never count out traditional ways to make money from home.

Writing For Money

Writing on sites like HubPages or making your own blog could bring in some extra pocket change.

Most of the money is made from affiliate programs like Adsense.

The more people view your sites and click on articles, the more money you make.

Make Money Babysitting

You could start your own daycare service if you have extra room in your house and a nice sized, fenced back yard.

You will need to get a daycare license and can only take so many kids per caregiver. You could charge around $150 per week, per child and make $600 per month per child.

If you watch 3 children, you could be making $1800 per month!

You could babysit at your home and at other people's homes. You may make around $10 per hour, depending on the amount of children.

You could also do before and after school care for kids on school days. A lot of working parents just need someone to watch their kids before and after school to fill in the gap around the school day.

This would keep a good portion of your day free and as an extra bonus, your kids will have extra kids to play with!

Surveys are an easy way to make money from home and now, even from your smartphone! Surveys take anywhere from 1-60 minutes. Most surveys I take are around 10 minutes long.

They pay anywhere from 10 cents to $20 each depending on the length and how narrow the market is.

Surveyhead, Valued Opinions and Pinecone Research are my three favorite survey sites. They pay when they are supposed to and they pay a good amount for each survey.

I have been working with each of these companies for around five years and have had no issues with them.

To start getting paid for doing surveys, you will first need to sign up with each of the survey sites. Then, check your email account.

They will alert you by email if there is a survey that you qualify for.

The email usually tells you how long the survey will take to complete and how much it pays. You can choose to do or not do as many as you like.

If you would like to take a day or even a month off, there is no problem! It's the most flexible job I have found.

If you take surveys, there is a good chance you will be able to do product-testing.

Survey companies will send you a survey to fill out and sometimes they are looking for a person to test a product.

They will ask you questions during the survey to see if you qualify and then ask if you would be willing to test a product for them and then give them a review of that product.

They pay for the first survey and the review survey after you test the product. They send you the product for free.

I have tested products anywhere from diapers and wipes to cleaning products to new toys before they hit the shelves!

Usually they send a good amount of the product. When they send wipes or diapers, they usually send a few weeks to a months worth.

Every product I have tested was a name-brand product.

Completing Tasks Online For Money

Sites like MTurk (Amazon Mechanical Turk) and Fiverr are great for making money when you have a few minutes to spare.

MTurk is a site that lets people either post a job or make an offer on a job. Each job can be done within a few seconds to an hour.

Depending on the complexity of the job and the amount of time allotted for the job, they pay different amounts.

I was able to make $10 in one hour by doing several dozen jobs that paid 25 cents each. Each job only took me a half a minute.

It is very easy work and you can log on whenever you want and work for as long as you want. There are constantly new jobs.

Fiverr is a site where you can find people selling a service for $5 or you could buy a service for $5.

One of the most famous services I have seen on this site, was a person who wrote a message for somebody in the sand on the beach and then took a picture of it and sent it to that person via email.

The person who sells that service pretty much makes a living off of it!

Even though you are not technically making money by couponing, you are saving money for your family.

Earned money is taxed, saved money is not taxed! You will not need to worry about paying taxes on money you have saved, which makes this even more valuable.

It takes me around one hour per week to save 50-75% off my bill at the grocery store.

Go to sites like or the to match sales with coupons available.

These sites will let you pick a store you want to shop at that week and then give you a list of all the sales at that store and tell you if there are any coupons available for that sale item.

They will also tell you how much money you will save on that deal.

These are all very interesting. I have never heard of anyone actually doing the surveys and I always assumed they were a scam. Thanks for clearing that up!

There are some scam survey sites. I would always check with sites like Volition to see what people say about the survey site you are interested in and never pay money to join a survey site.
