Rhonda's Story: I Dreamed Of A Baby Boy, Much To My Surprise! It was a good thing I did, too!

Ohio, USA

Rhonda was hoping for a baby girl. She'd browse through all the girl baby clothes at the store, and favor the more feminine-looking baby quilt sets. Yet one night she had a dream about her baby. In the dream, she saw her baby soon after it was born. A nurse was changing the baby's diaper, and to Rhonda's surprise, the baby was a boy.

Rhonda writes:

"I didn't know what to think! I was so surprised! Could a dream about my baby's gender be accurate, I wondered?! My husband and I had decided against having an ultrasound unless it became medically necessary, so we knew we'd have to wait until my baby was born to find out. In the meantime, I began browsing through the baby boy's clothes too!

I am proud to announce I now have a delightful baby boy, and I love him oh so much! I'm thrilled! I'm thankful for the dream too, as it helped me be better prepared for either gender!"

Catherine's Story: Dreams and Intuition About The Gender Of Her Babies

South Carolina, USA

Catherine knew the gender of all three of her children prior to her ultrasounds.

She writes:

"With my first son, I dreamed that he was a boy, and just never even entertained any other thoughts about his sex. I was sure he was a boy! When I gave birth to him, I remember hearing, "It's a boy!," but I was so tired and worn out from his 24 hour labor, I wasn't sure at the time if I was dreaming!

With my second child, my husband and I were hoping and trying for a girl. When I got pregnant, I felt so sure the baby was a girl that I purchased a couple of little pink outfits and wrapped them up as a present. I then gave the present to my husband on Father's Day, and that's how I told him I was pregnant!

I also remember dreaming of holding a baby up in my arms. I couldn't see the baby's face, but it was wearing one of the pink outfits that I had purchased. Later on in the pregnancy, I had an ultrasound done, and wasn't at all surprised to hear that my baby would be a girl!

My youngest was a complete and total shock! We were not expecting him at all! When my daughter was about three years old, she walked up to me one day and said, 'Mom, you're going to have a baby boy. I'm going to have a baby brother!' Later that same day, I decided to have a pregnancy test done, and discovered that I was indeed pregnant! Eight months later I gave birth to a son, just as my daughter had predicted!

With him, as with all three, I felt sure about his sex and would have been shocked if he was a girl. It is hard to explain, I guess it is intuition, but I just knew."

I'm a little wishy washy on this, I picture a little boy, but I've had two dreams of a baby girl. In the first I dreamed of a toddler runnin up to her daddy (my bf). She was the most gorgeous girl I'd ever seen, so chubby and had dark brown hair like her dad, along with his eyes and my tan skin. With a cute little pink and orange summer dress.

The second one was, it was basically a post apocalyptic America, my dad and boyfriend had gone into town to get supplies cause I was close to my due date. Well I ended up going into labor in y living room and my mom and sister helped me deliver. When I held the baby, well you know how baby's don't have very animated faces normally? Yeah this little girl was smiling at me and grabbing for my face looking at me like she knew who I was. Then my boyfriend came back and it was the same thing. I want a boy, but from those dreams I have a gut feeling it'll be a girl.

anonymous 3 years ago

I think do because i had a dream about having my 2 boys and it was most diffently accurate...

chezchazz 3 years ago from New York

My wife was the only one sure she would have a boy - everyone else said it would be a girl. My wife was right. She also has known other things - but that's another story.

anonymous 3 years ago

I hope so! I do believe it's true. I'm 14 weeks and I really wanted a girl, one night I had a dream about a baby boy and I fell in love. I'm sure I'm having a boy. I won't find out for sure until December 27, 2012. But I already know and I will name my son Amari Tyler Hicks :)

anonymous 4 years ago

When I was pregnant with my first, my husband and I did not want to find out the gender, so we waited until birth. Around 20 weeks I had a dream about picking up the baby birth certificate and it stated that he was a boy, the name of the doctor who would deliver him (in my doctor's office there are 5 potential doctors who could deliver your baby). When I showed up at the hospital and was ready to push the doctor who I had a dream about showed up,,,and 2 hrs later our son was born! So the dream was 100% accurate for me. Now I am 19 weeks pregnant with my second one and we don't plan on finding out again, but last night had a dream it was a baby boy again. Lets see if this one is correct again!

I was dreaming about my baby girl when my wife was pregnant. Now we have 4years old beauty.

When I was pregnant with my first child i wanted a boy and before i had an ultrasound i was sure i was going to i even bought boys clothes but one night i had a dream i was changing my babys diaper and there was no doubt there were girl parts! and then when the day of the ultrasound came i saw i really was having a daughter. i also want to have a boy with this pregnacy but i did have a few extremely detailed dreams about having a girl guess i will see in a couple months! either way I don't mind but I do believe our dreams play a role in the future , who hasn't had deja vu before??

Pregnancy certainly invokes dreams and high expetations.

Before I met my bf I had a dream telling me to name my sOn israel, which was weird because I hadn't met this man yet. Shore enough a year later I was pregnant . My mom called me and said she saw a baby boy in vision;

And Iater on I found out I was truly having a boy! Just two months before I got pregnant I dreamed of a little girl wrapped in a pink blanket . And I called her Elizabeth ; I didn't understand why I had a baby , and why I knew her name ; but now I am pregnant and can't wait to find out what Im having

anonymous 4 years ago

when i was pregnant with my son i wanted a girl soooo bad! but one night i had a dream of a baby boy but couldn't see his face and that's when i knew it was a boy! im pregnant again and this time i had a dream of a baby with a pink onesie on but i couldn't see the face :[ i don't know if its telling me something but i don't know what im having until august 16th..what do you think it means?

anonymous 4 years ago

I had dreams about what my daughter would look like and everything. I dreamed that she was going to have red/brown skin and curly black hair with big brown eyes. Sure enough, miss Leah Marie was born with red/brown skin and dark brown (almost black) curly hair and the biggest brown eyes I've ever seen!

i am 27 weeks pregnant and before I had my ultrasound me and my boyfriend would dream of a baby girl. But everybody would tell me your havinq a boy so me and my bf thought it would be a boy. But to our surprice we went to get the ultrasound and they said is a girl I was shocked cause I always thought I would have a boy.

What's weird doe is that now and before I knew the gender of my baby I would dream of TWIN baby girls.

So I am very confused

Spiderlily321 4 years ago

I think so. I remember having dreams about a baby boy before I knew what the gender of my baby was.

chezchazz 4 years ago from New York

My wife knew she was carrying boy without dreaming about it. She says she just "knew." That and too many other things to be more than coincidence have made me believe it is possible, so why not via dreams too.

exotickitten731 4 years ago

Yes, I've had dreams of my first born who turned out to be a beautiful baby girl, I had many dreams of her in fact that I knew she was the spitting image of me as a baby hehe = ] she is still the spitting image of me at 2 years of age!

miaponzo 4 years ago

I think when a person dreams about the gender there's a good chance that it's true (worked for me)...

anonymous 6 years ago

i say maybe its gods way of letting you know the gender of your baby.

    No, of course not!

    gisellemommy 2 years ago

I am currently 16 weeks pregnant since the day I found out I was pregnant I believe this one is my girl. I have a handsome 7 yr old son who I adore. I had a dream when I was 8 and 10 weeks pregnant I had a girl and I named her Giselle Dalilah when I woke up the name was still fresh in my mind so I wrote it down called my bff and told her I already have a name want find out gender until 10/10/14

    anonymous 3 years ago

No. I had 4 dreams that I was having a boy. 2 were prior to me even knowing that I was pregnant. I just found out that this is girl #4 for me :'(

    BizLang 3 years ago

I knew from the start I was having a boy. Call it mums intuition. At my 20 week scan I found out my baby was of course a boy. I have had two dreams since though that he has been born a girl! So unless I get a massive shock in a couple of weeks I am sure my dreams are not true.

    anonymous 4 years ago

I don't think Iam pregnant, but last nite I had a dream about baby girl and we talk and she told me to give her name Emily..everything was so weird..

    anonymous 4 years ago

I'm pregnant with my first and have had multiple dreams of both genders. I know for sure there's only one baby in there though, so not all of my dreams are right.

My doctor tells me I am having a baby boy but I have dreams about a girl. My ultrasounds have been moving my due date all over the place, so I do not believe anything the doctor tells me. I guess I will find out the true gender of my baby when it pops out and I'm excited!

Finding Out Your Baby's Gender - What do YOU think?

Is it better to find out what your baby's gender is during pregnancy, or wait until delivery?

I vote for finding out during pregnancy, so I can buy stuff for that gender baby!

      norma-holt 4 years ago

Probabky good to know for planning ahead.

      anonymous 4 years ago

I think it's better to know the sex of the baby before birth.

This way you can have everything ready.

      Spiderlily321 4 years ago

I think its great to find out the gender during pregnancy so you can buy things for him or her ahead of time. But then again there are always neutral colors and unisex items for babies.

      exotickitten731 4 years ago

I'd rather be prepared, especially with a baby shower, free stuff and whatnot, plus I couldn't handle the excitement of finding out way later, I have never been a patient person lol

      anonymous 4 years ago

With my son I didn't want to find out but my husband did, so we did. I knew he was a boy.......and I had dreams of a girl. This pregnancy I have been having dreams of a Boy....I find out today :)

      anonymous 4 years ago

i found out with baby no1 as i was so wanting a girl so thought id check n it was a boy. husband made it real hard though as he never wanted to know. baby no2 i never found out but new it would be a boy and yes it was a boy. baby no3 is on way and im sure its to be a girl and i am going to find out. it helps you get ready for baby.

      anonymous 4 years ago

im not pregnant but in my dream my young sister said to me im pregnant then i woke up i don't no what mean by that.

      miaponzo 4 years ago

Personally I like knowing.. :) Makes things easier because you can buy everything before you deliver!

      jaredsgirl 4 years ago

Find out during pregnancy. I did with both my kiddos and it was easier to prepare by knowing what to buy.

Those tests aren't always accurate! Besides, it's more fun to be surprised at the birth!

        Gypzeerose 4 years ago

Some things should have the mystery left intact.

        anonymous 5 years ago

i was desperate to find out what i was having, i guess curiosity got the better of me as it's my first but my partner said he would rather keep it a surprise. the sonographer couldn't tell so i still have to wait and it is agonising!! i really believe i'm having a boy, i knew my younger sister was having a girl months before she did so i was wondering, if i knew what my sister is having, how come i'm still 'umm'ing and 'ahhh'ing about my own? i'm glad it's a surprise now though coz no one else will know for sure til my baby is born (i like to surprise people) but i'm soooo positive he's a boy i just want to know if i'm right!! what do you guys think?

        anonymous 6 years ago

i m so confused about my baby gender because after my ultrasound doc said it's a girl but in starting of my pregnancy i saw a boy in dream and after two month i had a dream of girl so i m confused what i m having boy or girl

        anonymous 6 years ago

Its more exciting to wait until delivery to find out !!!

        anonymous 6 years ago

Wait for delivery! Such an amazing surprise!

        anonymous 6 years ago

last night i have a dream i have a baby girl but first 3 month i have seen a baby boy i don't know where i have to believe i have already had an ultrasound they said nothing to find between legs may be a girl 12 week scan but i want this time baby boy because i have already baby girl

        tandemonimom lm 7 years ago

I'd rather wait, but my hubby couldn't stand it, so we had ultrasounds for each baby. They were all correct, too.

        anonymous 7 years ago

I've waited until my baby's birth for both of my pregnancies! It was fun trying to speculate on what sex they might be!

About a week before my second child was born he came to me in a dream. He looked to be about three years old but spoke like a much older child. He said "Hi, Mom, this is me Nicholas Daniel. I'm your new little boy. You will be disappointed at first (that I had another boy) but you'll get over it because you are the kind of woman that should raise boys" Pinned to my board on being a mom, I bet there are a lot of women that have experienced this.

Before Buddha was born, her mother dreamt of a white elephant entering her womb - the spiritual saints predicted the outcome of such a dream as a prophecy of the arrival of a very saintly human being who was to attain enlightenment and guide people throughout his life.

Amazing lens on the dreams and yes it might come true.
